About the author
I'm Jamie Dimenna, a PhD candidate in Political Science at the University of Waterloo. My research explores political communication, culture, and the ways stories shape how we understand ourselves, one another, and the world around us.
My interests, however, have never fit neatly into one discipline. I'm endlessly curious about people, the things we believe, the art we create, the societies we build, and the often-overlooked ways politics finds its way into everyday life. I'm particularly interested in the space where culture and politics intersect, and what that intersection reveals about who we are.
jjournal is my personal notebook, made public. It's a collection of thoughts, observations, questions, and occasional digressions on politics, culture, society, and whatever else happens to occupy my mind. Some entries may be carefully considered; others may simply be attempts to make sense of something I've encountered.
Above all, this is a space for curiosity, reflection, and thinking aloud. A record of the world as I see it, with the understanding that how I see it will inevitably change.
